The Council decided on Monday 16th August to refuse to grant a planning permit for the Stage 2 Development at 85 Mount Eliza Way.
This was refused due to the following reasons:-
On Monday 16th August there will be a Council Meeting to decide the fate of the public space at the front of Safeway. The proposal is for a 90 seat convenience retsaurant ( replacing and enlarging the current gift shop) with a private deck to be built around the heritage listed Monterey Cypree tree.

TOWER ROAD CAMPING & CARAVAN PARK -REFUSAL BY COUNCIL –On the 30th December the Shire Council refused a Planning Application for a Camping and Caravan Park in Tower Road, Mount Eliza on the following grounds:-
1. Pursuant to the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006(Vic) and associated regulations a Cultural Heritage Management Plan is required and has not been provided.
The objection to the Heritage Victoria Permit VHR0321 contains an objection to the modernising and use of contemporary materials in the extension of the Gatehouse and a freestanding garage in the Green Wedge area.
